White Coat Ceremony
The School of Medicine recognizes first-year students' entrance into the medical profession at a White Coat Ceremony. The White Coat Ceremony is one of a series of initiatives developed by the medical school as part of its Project Professionalism. This school-wide project was implemented to foster a culture among students and faculty that honors the ideals of medical professionalism: maintenance of patient interest above physician self-interest, altruism, accountability, excellence, duty and service, honor and integrity, and respect for others.
This year's format for the White Coat Ceremony is in development. The ceremony will be Friday, July 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Whether a small live event only with students attending or a virtual event, parents and friends will not be able to attend the event. They will be able to view via livestream. When details are confirmed, we will provide an update on this webpage.
