Dr. Vyhlidal is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Medical Toxicology, and Therapeutic Innovation at Children's Mercy Hospital.  Dr. Vyhlidal's research interests are focused on understanding the adaptive responses to disease and drug/xenobiotic exposures in fetal and pediatric populations and how normal development and disease processes alter the xenobiotic response. Current work employs pharmacogenetics, epigenetics, next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, and cell line models to investigate the molecular mechanisms of regulation of human cytochrome P450 drug-metabolizing enzymes to identify biomarkers to predict disease severity as well as response to therapeutic interventions.
